    FAQs

    SUP - Beginners

The recommended pressure is usually 15 PSI which is marked on the valve rubber patch of each chamber on the board. Any higher than the indicated amount and you risk over inflating and damaging your board. Depending on the size of your board it can take anywhere from 5 to 8 minutes to inflate. We recommend inflating to 12-13PSI!

The recommended pressure for our inflatable boards is between 15 and 18 PSI.

If the temperature outside is above 25 degrees Celsius, we recommend inflating the board only up to 80%-90% of the max. air pressure, which comes to 12-14PSI.

The pressure will increase naturally due to the heat. This is very important!

When inflated correctly and used for general Stand Up Paddling, you will hardly notice a difference. The biggest benefit is that you can deflate, roll up and stash your board in the back of the car with ease, and transporting it further afield is really easy. Our boards are designed to journey with you to wondrous places.

Yes, we have several types of motors such as the Scubajet or Aqua Marina Blue Drive motor.

There is a little spring pin inside the valve that locks itself in two positions: Deflating Position (air coming out freely) and Inflating Position (100% Airtight). If the air is releasing, that means the valve spring pin may have been left in the Deflating Position. To switch from deflating to inflating, simply push the pin in and turn counter-clockwise 90 degrees so it pops up and the pin will lock itself in a “UP” position and the air will not be able to come out unless you push the pin down again.

    SUP - Maintenance

No! Dragging it on the ground may cause damage to your board and could result in air leakage. This will void your warranty.

No. Paddles are not meant to be secured under bungees. The bungee system is designed to secure a bag or water bottle with ease. If you want to secure your paddle, please use the AQUA MARINA paddle holder.

No. Do not leave your board under direct sunlight as this may cause over-inflation. Please keep the board under shade when not in use with a working pressure NO MORE THAN 60%-70% of the maximum air pressure, or leave your board in a cool dry place. Remember to check the air pressure before and after use, and deflate your board when necessary.

Taking care of your board is pretty easy with regular maintenance. Here are some handy tips that will ensure your gear lasts longer.

    • Cleaning: Clean the board after each use with freshwater and mild soap.
    • Keep it dry: Dry the board off after each use and before storing to avoid mould damage.
    • Avoid direct sunlight: Keep the board away from direct sunlight and keep under shade when not in use with a working pressure less than 60%-70% of the max. air pressure.
    • Don’t use an air compressor: You can easily over-inflate the board by using an air compressor and void the warranty.
    • No dragging: Sharp debris can puncture your board.
    • Use it frequently: Long-term storage can cause glue bonds to disintegrate.
    • Store at room temperature: Keep the boards sheltered away from high temperature and humidity, with room temperature between 0℃ and 40℃.
    • Regular maintenance: Regularly check for cracks, scrapes, or any other issues and repair if necessary.

Clean the board after each use with fresh water and mild soap. We suggest rinse the board to remove dirt, sand and salt water. Use towels to wipe away dirt when necessary. Remember to remove your fins before you rinse your board so that you can thoroughly cleanse your fin box. Completely dry your board AFTER you rinse and BEFORE you store it.

    1. Remove fins before you store your board.
    2. Completely dry your board BEFORE you store it.
    3. Don’t store your inflatable board in direct sunlight. This will result in deterioration in the long run and shorten the life of your board. UV radiation is harsh and can particularly damage PVC when exposed repeatedly day after day.
    4. Store your inflatable board in the right temperature range. Anywhere between 5-40 degrees Celsius (40-110 degrees Fahrenheit) is recommended. Again, inflatable SUPs are durable, but extreme conditions aren’t ideal for any sporting equipment. Avoid freezing cold or baking hot conditions.
    5. You can store your board both deflated or inflated, whichever suits your space.
      • When the board is stored inflated, resist the temptation to stack things or place heavy objects on it. This could cause a divot or impact the rocker of your board over time. Also, if you’re storing your board inflated for the long-term, it’s best to release a few PSI just in case your storage area gets too warm. That helps to prevent any damage to the board from the air inside expanding beyond the desired PSI.
      • If you store your board deflated, keep it lying flat. When storing your board deflated, it’s a great idea to use your board bag to protect it from abrasions. Make sure it’s rolled or folded loosely. Then store your board in it’s backpack so it’s laying on its side rather than upright or standing on the edges of the board where pressure points could form.

Over time you will experience some loss of pressure especially with temperature changes. Just top it up before you hit the water. The board should be stored out of direct sunlight and if you are not going to use it for a while you should reduce the pressure to below 15psi (maximum air pressure).

    SUP - Troubleshooting

Do not fear, it’s meant to be here!!
The bump which can be seen at the back of some of our boards on the bottom is where the drop stitch material has to be cut in order to fit in the inflation valve. It is not a fault of construction, and will not affect use.

Solution (A) The PSI value won’t register until it reaches the minimum scale reading PSI.
Solution (B) If the pump gauge isn’t working after several minutes’ inflation, you could send us an email on support@ritzmarine.com and we will get back to you within 1 working day.

    First of all, don’t panic!

Please check whether the leak is caused by the valve or a puncture, and refer to corresponding repair instructions in the user manual. You can locate the leak by spraying soapy water on the board to see if air bubbles start forming.

    Solution (A)
If your board valve is leaking, please follow the instructions by referring to page 15 (for Aqua Marina) of your user manual. Or click here for our after-sales how-to instructional video.

    Solution (B)
If your board leak is caused by a cut or a puncture, please follow the instructions by referring to page 14 of your user manual (for Aqua Marina). Or click here for our after-sales how-to instructional video.

    Solution (C)
If your board’s band seam on the rail is leaking, click herefor our after-sales how-to instructional video.

Please send us an email on support@ritzmarine.com describing the problem and including photos.

Order a fin from our website or visit our shop. Feel free to contact us before to ensure we have the fin you require in stock as there are many different models!

In most cases, your board does not require precise folding to get packed in your original bag.

Please make sure you are packing your board in the right bag size. AQUA MARINA provides 5 sizes of zip backpacks to fit different boards for great portability.

You may also want to check how to properly fold your board and pack everything in the bag, please click here for an instructional video.

Every board comes with a repair kit. You will get a user manual, a warranty card, a wrench and some patches that can be used to get you back up and running. A good repair should be left overnight to cure.

NOTE: DO NOT use the wrench to deflate the board. As a repair tool, this wrench can be only used to remove and tighten the valve for servicing purpose only.

    Jetsurf - Basics

The answer is both. Five of our models are fuel-powered. Recently, we’ve also added a fully electric version.

The max load of the Adventure DFI and the Adventure DFI PLUS is 120kg. The max load of the Race DFI and the Titanium DFI is 100kg.

The board is built to run on the water, not to idle on the water. The board can easily hold your body weight while the board is moving however you should not chill on the board while the board is idle.

Absolutely. Send us a message to book your session.

The fuel-powered boards weigh less than 20kg The JetSurf Electric weighs 29kg (this is including the battery)

Yes, we provide all paperwork to register it with Transport Malta.

No nautical license or insurance is necessary.

They are all completely manufactured in theCzech Republic, Europe at the MSR Engines factory. MSR Engines is proud to be the officially certified aviation business supplier, sourcing parts for RedBull Air Race champion Martin Sonka.

Regular riders put their left foot forward and hold the control handle in their left hand. Goofy riders put their right foot forward and hold the control handle in their right hand.

The top speed of our JetSurf boards ranges from 55km/hr to 65 km/hr depending on the model.

The cruising range of our fuel-powered boards is around 50-55 minutes on one fuel tank. The cruising range of theJetSurf Electric is around 35 minutes on one fully charged battery pack.

We have gone from Marsaskala to Sliema and back on one fuel tank. Keep in mind you can strap an additional fuel tank on your board.

The big advantage of the fuel-powered JetSurfboards is that you can check it in as a surfboard with TSA and fly to some exotic destinations. You can not do this with the JetSurf Electric because of its Lithium battery.

The fuel tank needs to be completely dry and removed from the board. It needs to travel in your backpack. Same with the ICU. Remove it from the board and put it into your backpack.

Rinse and dry the board completely and wrap with a few layers of bubble wrap. Check it in as a surfboard at the airport.

    Jetsurf - The Learning Process

Not really. Of course it makes it easier to have a prior board sports experience (longboard, wakeboard, snowboard, …) but it is not necessary. Even riders without any prior board sports experience usually pick it up within 30 minutes and manage to stand up and ride.

Absolutely. JetSurfing is actually a little bit like riding a dirt bike on the water. The sense of stability and the experience with using the throttle will definitely help you learn how to ride aJetSurf.

Looking for easier way to learn how to ride a JetSurf? Would you like to let your children share the board or just welcome more buoyancy? Then, the JetSurf Tube will definitely be your favorite. A rubber tube fitted to your board will create one of the most stable surfing crafts. This inflatable accessory will not take up too much space for transport and can easily be strapped to all JETSURF models.

    Jetsurf or Efoil?

What is the difference between the motorized surfboard and e-foil?

E-foils and JetSurf boards are two very different products. These are the main differences:

    1) Most of JetSurf boards are fuel-powered but most foils are battery-powered.

Fuel-powered means that you need to operate with gas, but that means you don’t need to wait a few hours every 35 minutes so you can charge the battery.

    2) E-foils are flying above the water surface which is an interesting feeling but you are disconnected from the water, and you cannot carve as much. On the other hand, you can rip it pretty hard on theJetSurf board.

Yes, we are agents for Fliteboard.

JetSurf was established in 2010 and we’ve quickly become the market leader in the motorized surfboards industry. We currently own about 85% of the motorized surfboard market and we are the only brand competing in the UIM MotoSurf World Championship racing series.

The main difference is the Alternator. Even the fuel-powered boards have a small battery unit that powers the starter, bilge pump, etc… so you need to charge the board after approximately 4-5 hours of cruising time (in other words: once or twice a week if you ride it often). The Adventure PLUS has the alternator so the charging process is significantly reduced.

    • The other difference is the bindings set up. TheAdventure DFI has a double bindings set up so you can share the board withGoofy and Regular riders. The Adventure DFI PLUS has a single bindings set upso it makes it more difficult to share the board with others.
    • On the other hand, the Adventure PLUS comes withmore accessories and a better travel bag.
    • The standard Adventure DFI is a better fit forfamilies. The Adventure DFI PLUS is a better fit for long-distance trips andisland hopping.

The shape of the hull is different. TheAdventure DFI is more stable on the water so the learning process is easier. On the other hand, the Race DFI is less stable and more agile.

The Adventure DFI comes with a double bindings set-up so you can share the board with Regular and Goofy riders. The Race DFI comes with a single bindings set-up so it is a better fit for individuals.

Generally, the Adventure DFI is a perfect family board for beginners. The Race DFI is a great choice if you are ready for more agile ride with sharp turns and jumps.

The JetSurf board is a state-of-the-art watercraft and just like any other machine, it requires some level of maintenance. Usual maintenance steps include the following:

    • Use only quality gas with Octane number 91 and up
    • Use only two-stroke full synthetic oil
    • Rinse the board after every salt water use
    • Change the spark plug every 10 hours of cruising
    • Charge the ICU to keep the required voltage
    • Lubricate the freewheel with the freewheel grease

Absolutely. All boards come with a written user manual and with video maintenance tutorial as well.

Yes. You need to mix two-stroke full synthetic oil with a quality gas in the ratio of 1:50
